If you want to speed up your browsing in Windows Explorer, you could disabling the thumbnail preview in folders. But, if you like thumbnail previews of your pictures in Windows explorer you can turn-on thumbnail preview. It’s up to you, some users like thumbnail preview on and others like it off. NOTE: This will work in Windows 7 and Windows Vista
To make the change, click on the Organize button on any folder, and choose Folder and Search Options from the menu.
In the Windows Explorer click on Tools on the top Tool Bar, then click on Folder Options
Thumbnail Preview Off: Click on the View Tab, and then check on the Always show icons, never thumbnail check box. This will turn off thumbnail preview.
Thumbnail Preview On: Click on the View Tab, and then Uncheck on the Always show icons, never thumbnail check box. This will turn on thumbnail preview.
Click on Apply, then OK, that’s it your done.
